Holy smokes has this been a long day. It feels like I said goodbye to my parents a week ago, not a day ago. Well, I guess that's just how jet lag is.
As you can see from the title, our flight to Frankfurt was A DOUBLE DECKER PLANE WITH THREE SEATS BY EACH WINDOW AND A ROW OF FOUR SEATS IN THE MIDDLE. That thing was huge. By far the biggest plane I've ever seen. I watched Silver Linings Playbook which was absolutely amazing. I slept for about 2 or 3 hours after that. It was a good ride. Already we're becoming more friendly with one another and I've talked to a few new people already. There's this senior named Alex, and he's really nice. I thought he was sort of rude and anti social before because I had only seen him at the meetings, but he's actually really nice and funny. I've been talking to Lucy and Lauren, too. I was friends with Lucy in 8th grade, but we sort of disconnected. It's nice to be talking to her again.
After landing in Frankfurt, we took a connecting flight to Hannover and a bus ride to Helmsteadt. We waited around in the computer room for some of the host kids to come down, but Jakob didn't come down! His friends, Luca and Felix brought me to the class that he was just finishing and we went in and grabbed him. Then Jakob and Björn took me and Björns host student to their art class where Jakob taped a piece of styrofoam to his face by wrapping the tape around his head three times. It was absolutely hysterical. His teacher walked in and he tried to hide it but she just took one look at him and gave him this face that could only mean "what in the world am I going to do with you?". Jakob and Björn took us on the train where we met some of their other friends. It was cool. I like the train. :)now we are going to walk around the town with Björn and hopefully find some ice cream! :)
Auf Wiedersehen!!
